Location:Cambridge
Salary:£42,254 to £56,535 per annum
Hours:Full Time
Contract Type:Fixed-Term/Contract
Placed On:23rd March 2026

Job Ref:PM49133

Cambridge Reproduction is a vibrant Interdisciplinary Research Centre (IRC) that brings together more than 300 researchers across the biomedical and physical sciences, technology, social sciences, arts and humanities. Our mission is to respond to compelling challenges and pressing problems in the reproductive arena by maintaining and enhancing the position of Cambridge as a leading global centre for cross-disciplinary research in reproduction. We now seek a Programme Manager to coordinate on-going initiatives and to help shape the next stage of our development.

As Programme Manager, you will work with the Co Chairs and Steering Committee to develop and implement a bold research strategy for the IRC. You will build partnerships within and beyond the University, foster cross disciplinary collaborations, and help position Cambridge Reproduction as a leader in research, policy engagement and impact. Through your oversight of the whole network, you will identify opportunities for collaboration, funding and growth, working with the Co-Chairs to prioritise these opportunities and ensuring effort is focused where it makes the greatest difference.

You will play a central role in developing external relationships with funders, policymakers and partner organisations; supporting researchers to develop new projects; and ensuring the effective governance, operations and long term sustainability of the IRC. You will oversee communications, events and networking programmes, as well as developing interdisciplinary training opportunities for early career researchers and coordinating Cambridge Reproduction's research theme framework.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with diverse stakeholders, thrives on strategic and creative thinking, and wants to shape a rapidly expanding interdisciplinary initiative with national and international reach.

Your experience may come from higher education, industry or government. The successful candidate will have:

  • a track record of delivering complex projects to deadlines;
  • excellent programme management and organisational skills, including financial management;
  • exceptional relationship building and communication skills, including the ability to liaise credibly with academics, funders and policy partners;
  • experience in writing compelling funding applications and securing funding;
  • confidence in managing multiple projects and competing priorities independently;
  • strong writing and oracy skills for varied audiences, including the ability to present complex data and projects clearly in written documents and oral presentations;
  • a good first degree, or equivalent qualification, and an understanding of the academic research environment.

Knowledge and understanding of reproduction-related research, policy and practice is desirable but not essential.

This position is offered on a full-time basis, although we also welcome applications from individuals who wish to be considered for part-time working (minimum 28 hours per week).

Fixed Term: the funds for this post are available until 30 September 2027.
