- Remuneration: $138,193 to $156,633 pa (HEW8) (inclusive of $116,774 to $132,357 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)

We are seeking a Project Accountant to join Finance Business Solutions, Chancellery Division.
QUT is seeking a Project Accountant to support the financial management of the Physical Capital Program. This role is responsible for building program budgets, tracking financial performance against forecasts and actuals, preparing accurate financial reports, and ensuring strong financial governance across the program. Working closely with project managers, Finance Business Solutions, and key stakeholders, the position delivers clear financial insights and applies strong problem-solving skills to address financial issues and support effective project decision making. It suits a detail-oriented finance professional with solid project accounting experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What you need to succeed
- Education, training and/or experience equivalent to the completion of postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications in finance or a related business discipline and extensive relevant experience.
- Ongoing professional development equivalent to CPA or Chartered Accountant.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, project accounting practices, and physical infrastructure project and transformation activities. Proven ability to develop, review, and analyse complex budgets, apply financial governance principles, and utilise corporate financial systems to support project outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate processes, resolve complex issues and contribute to a high-performance culture whilst adapting to changing project requirements and priorities.
- Highly developed digital literacy skills with demonstrated high level proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products (including databases) and financial packages such as Oracle, with the ability to develop reports.
- High level interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to quickly establish rapport, manage stakeholder relationships, and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy, maintain strong attention to detail, and demonstrate leadership in a complex environment whilst working under pressure.
