Project Coordinator
Position Title: Project Coordinator
Schedule: Full-Time
Timeline: One year with the possibility of extension
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: In-person (work-at-home is possible 1 day/week, depending on the study phase)
Project title: Addressing disparities in PrEP uptake using the multiphase optimization strategy framework and implementation science
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead a community advisory board
- Train and supervise research assistants
- Carry out a scoping review of the literature on PrEP
- Program a REDCap database
- Help select, design, and pilot test candidate intervention components
- Carry out intervention sessions with participants (e.g., health education)
- Use social media and other outreach methods for participant recruitment
- Screen and enroll eligible participants
- Conduct participant assessments in REDCap
- Manage and monitor a participant compensation system (ClinCard)
- Schedule appointments and manage administrative tasks
- Perform additional related duties as needed
Required Qualifications
- Current or recent graduate student in public health, social work, psychology, nursing, or other social/behavioral science
- Experience working on a research study
- Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative research methods
- Experience with Black and Latine/Hispanic young/emerging adults and communities
- Interest in HIV prevention issues including PrEP, as well as in sexually transmitted infections generally, the structural factors that create barriers to PrEP
- Knowledge of REDCap or the ability to learn new computer programs
- Experience with conducting health education
- Excellent organizational skills
- Commitment to racial justice, social justice, and social equity
- Must have a high level of attention to detail, flexibility, ability to work on a team, and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in the multiphase optimization strategy framework
- Experience analyzing qualitative and/or quantitative data
- Experience carrying out scoping reviews
- Experiencing preparing manuscripts for publication
- Training and experience in motivational interviewing theory and techniques
- Knowledge of IRB protocols
This position is classified under the professional research staff category at NYU and does not qualify for visa sponsorship including STEM OPT extension. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of employment.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the salary range for this position is $55,000-$65,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
