The National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research Grant at UEC is seeking a qualified Project Coordinator to develop and manage project responsibilities.

University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB ('UEC') supports the university's educational mission by providing quality services that complement the instructional program. The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We're responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects.

Position Summary

Temporary, Staff, Part Time, Non-Exempt, Non-Benefited position through 8/31/2026 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance).
Salary: $26.00 to $29.00 per hour.
Location: CSUSB Campus.

Work Schedule

19 hours per week. Generally Monday though Friday. Schedule to be determined. Some nights and weekends may be required.

Typical Activities

Under minimal supervision of the NIDILRR Principle Investigator, the Project Coordinator will work independently to:

  • Develop and manage project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Assist PI with travel to potential recruitment sites.
  • Coordinate project activities, including meetings, fieldwork, and data collection and management.
  • Monitor project progress and performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure project goals are met.
  • Manage project budgets, including tracking expenses and allocating funds appropriately.
  • Coordinate communication between project team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact the project.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare and present project reports and updates to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Assist PI with background research, manuscript preparation, and develop conference presentations.
  • Assist the project team with data management, data processing, and creating and organizing presentation materials.
  • Coordinating the advisory board meetings and reimbursements.
  • Ensuring informed consent is obtained for all participants.
  • Facilitate study participation over the phone for individuals who are unable to access online study surveys due to a disability, and/or environmental barrier.
  • Disbursement of the participant gift cards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors Degree in health and rehabilitation or a closely related field.
  • Experience:
    • 2 years professional experience working in an administrative role.
    • 2 years professional experience working with computer software, and apps.
    • Knowledge and experience working with people with disabilities and individuals with underrepresented backgrounds.
  • Other:
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
    • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with personal experience with disabilities and underrepresented background status.
