The Facilities & Services Department at South Dakota State University (SDSU) is seeking a Project Manager to join our project management and engineering team. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing campus construction and renovation projects of various sizes. This position will be assigned to projects on Student Affairs division facilities. This include campus residence halls, The Student Union, and Miller Wellness Center.
The Project Manager will collaborate with architects, engineers, trade staff, and other project managers to ensure projects align with campus needs and provide safe, functional spaces for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position is located in Brookings, South Dakota. This position is a 12-month, full-time, leave-eligible position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for planning, designing and project management of construction and renovation projects and campus land development; contributing and assisting in the management of maintenance, alterations and repair services for campus buildings, streets, parking lot facilities, and utilities systems to meet campus clients’ needs and therefore to support and assist in teaching and research programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field completed by start date;
- At least three years of experience in project management;
- Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills;
- Demonstrated effective customer service skills;
- Organized, detailed, and results oriented;
- Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire;
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position; and
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make good decisions based on the best interests of the campus community.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least five years of experience in managing new construction or remodel and renovation projects.
