Project Manager, Evidence Exchange Project, Centre for Science and Policy (Fixed Term)

Location: Central Cambridge

The Centre for Science and Policy (CSaP) has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our team who shares our commitment to improve policy making through the more effective use of evidence and expertise. Since 2009, we have been leaders in the UK in building a core network of several thousand researchers and public policy professionals spanning academia and public service.

CSaP is now seeking a collaborative and highly organised Project Manager to be the operational lead for Evidence Exchange (EvEx), a new consortium funded by the Economic and Social Research Council.

EvEx will transform how universities across the UK support learning and exchange between researchers and public and civil servants. Working across seven universities and national partners, you will help create a UK-wide Digital Campus, launch new Policy Fellowships, develop online courses, and deliver innovative policy workshops, engaging thousands of researchers, civil and public servants over three and a half years.

You will manage the delivery of a complex, multi-partner initiative, translating a high-level grant vision into defined workstreams, milestones and KPIs, while working closely with Research Grants, Finance and IT colleagues to ensure effective financial and risk management. The role includes line management of a Project Coordinator, stakeholder engagement across academia and the public sector, leadership of project communications and data management, and contribution to evaluation and sustainability planning.

We welcome applications from candidates with substantial project management experience in higher education or policy, strong financial and analytical skills, excellent communication, and experience of events and digital content, gained through varied career paths. A Masters degree, or equivalent professional experience, is essential. Some UK travel and occasional evening work will be required.

The funds for this post are available for 3.5 years in the first instance.

Interviews will be held on 20th and 25th February.
