About the role
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Project Manager to lead the delivery of an innovative and complex clinical research programme at King’s College London. This role will oversee a Phase 2/3 multi-arm, multi-stage (MAMS) trial evaluating the safety and efficacy of repurposed biosimilars and biologics in adults with epidermolysis bullosa (EB).
As the Project Manager, you will report to and work closely with Dr Su Lwin (Chief Investigator), providing comprehensive oversight of all research activities to ensure high-quality delivery in line with Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
You will manage operational workflows, coordinate multi-stakeholder engagement across patients, industry, regulators, and commissioners, and support strategic programme management, including GANTT/Milestone planning, reporting to funders, communications, and risk oversight.
You will also be responsible for day-to-day study coordination, including participant enrolment tracking, maintenance of study records, and liaison with research delivery teams, sponsors, and R&D departments. In addition, you will oversee budgeting, procurement, vendor liaison, reporting to funders, coordination of mechanistic and translational outputs, and post-trial legacy activities such as biobanking, policy engagement, and NICE-related work.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in a pioneering clinical programme, contributing to the development and clinical translation of repurposed therapies for a rare and complex condition, improving patient outcomes, while gaining experience in strategic programme management within a leading academic and healthcare setting.
This is a part time post (17.5 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 31 October 2030.
The requirements of the post would be to be present in the office for 1.5 days a week after a probation period & depending on project activities. This will have to be approved by the Line Managers keeping in line with the King’s hybrid working mode.
About You
Essential criteria
- Post graduate qualification or equivalent in Clinical Research
- Demonstrated experience in clinical research or project management
- Proven experience setting up, running, and managing UK-wide, multi-centre studies within a healthcare setting
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring administrative or project teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work independently, effectively manage own workload, and demonstrate excellent organisational skills
- Contribute to the development of all study documentation
- Proficiency in IT tools, including email, spreadsheets, word processing, databases, financial software, and creative platforms
Desirable criteria
- Ability to oversee planning and execution of projects to meet organisational standards
- Experience working in both education and healthcare settings
- Creative problem-solving skills to address operational challenges
- Experience with strategic programme management tools, such as GANTT charts, risk logs, and communications plans
- Knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks and governance for clinical research, including familiarity with multi-stakeholder engagement
