The Centre for Social Impact (CSI) is committed to igniting positive, lasting social change for people and communities through education, research and engagement with not-for-profits, business, philanthropy and government. CSI’s National Office leads a portfolio of flagship professional development (PD) programs designed to build leadership, governance and philanthropic practice capability:
- Social Impact Leadership Australia (SILA) is a national, 10-month leadership development program for social purpose CEOs. Delivered in partnership with five funding organisations, SILA supports senior leaders and their organisations to strengthen impact, leadership practice, and builds a strategic network of organsiations working together to create a stronger for-purpose ecosystem.
- Governance for Social Impact (GSI) is a short course designed for board members of for-purpose organisations, equipping them to govern for social impact. Building on it’s success over the last several years, GSI is scaling its delivery of GSI in 2026.
- The Giving Academy (TGA) was developed in 2025 by CSI and is a suit of courses focused on advancing philanthropic capability and practice. Following the successful 2025 pilot, CSI will roll out the TGA program in 2026.
Position summary:
Reporting to the Program Manager –PD, the Project Officer – PD plays a key role in the end-to-end coordination and operational delivery of CSI’s professional development portfolio. CSI’s professional development portfolio is evolving and expanding in scale and reach. The Project Officer will contribute to program growth, continuous improvement and scalable delivery models.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate the end-to-end delivery of SILA, GSI and TGA programs, across multiple delivery formats (in-person, hybrid, and online).
- Coordinate in-person workshops, SILA Immersions, including logistics, venues, travel, catering, and participant materials.
- Construct, execute and monitor program plans in collaboration with the Program Manager, providing solutions and recommendations for the purposes of improving participant experience, operational efficiency and to ensure program quality.
- Provide operational support to the CSI National Program Team and delivery partners, including facilitators, speakers and others involved in the delivery of the program.
- Solve diverse and complex enquiries, using judgement and initiative whilst applying UNSW policy and procedures with the use of considerable technical skills.
- Maintain accurate data and track and report on progress against agreed deliverables and outcomes, exercising discretion and accountability for decision making.
- Collaborate with UNSW central services (e.g. Legal, Finance, HR etc.) to ensure UNSW policies, procedures and requirements are adhered to.
Skills and experience summary:

- Relevant degree with subsequent experience or equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and experience.
- Highly proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications and Monday.com software.
- Excellent organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail with a proven ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and conflicting deadlines.
- Strong end-to-end project management skills – ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, with an ability to build and maintain effective relationships and cultivate an exceptional customer service culture.
- Proven skills in problem-solving and improving processes and procedures, with motivation to apply this to a range of areas.
- A strong understanding of the not-for-profit sector and/or education sector is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously while contributing to a strong team environment.
