Established in 2006, RVU is the nation's first private, for-profit health sciences university to offer a professional medical degree since 1910. RVU is independent and privately funded with a Board of Trustees that oversees its operations, administration, education, and policy. RVU is part of Medforth Global Healthcare Education, an organization dedicated to addressing the growing global need for high-quality medical and healthcare professional training, particularly in medically underserved communities. It is supported by Carlyle, a private equity organization.
RVU enrolls nearly 2,450 students and offers five-degree programs in Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice, Master of Physician Assistant Studies, Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences, and Master of Medical Sciences. A sixth program, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, is under development, further broadening the University's role in addressing regional workforce needs across both human and animal health.
The next Provost will provide academic enterprise leadership in the building and strengthening of programs, managing of accreditation, the improvement of academic and student outcomes, developing strong leaders, and developing and implementing the University's strategic plan. The Provost will drive strategy execution and accomplishment designed to sustain and drive academic prominence. The Provost will help define the University's next era of academic distinction to ensure RVU continues to prepare healthcare professionals whose knowledge, compassion, and leadership improve the lives of patients and communities across the nation.
The Provost must hold a doctoral degree from an accredited institution and demonstrate scholarly distinction consistent with appointment as a full professor at RVU. The ideal candidate will possess substantial leadership experience in medical, health sciences, or related scientific education, with a proven ability to lead complex academic organizations through growth and innovation.
The anticipated hiring salary is $400,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package. The salary of the hire selected will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.
