The Department of Psychiatry at the Renaissance School of Medicine is seeking an innovative and technically-skilled investigator to establish a research program focused on the development, validation, and implementation of digital technologies for individuals with mental illness. These technologies may include algorithms, wearable sensors, and apps for digital phenotyping, ecologically valid assessment (e.g., cognition, emotion, sleep, physical activity, etc.) or interventions. The ideal candidate will be able to utilize artificial intelligence methods for impactful research and to advance real-world clinical practice. Resources for equipment, space, and additional research support are available to support this important initiative. Synergistic collaboration with other faculty in the department (e.g., neuroimaging, epidemiology) and across the institution (e.g., computer science, biomedical informatics, psychology etc.) is encouraged.
Stony Brook Psychiatry is home to a world-class, interdisciplinary team of investigators with robust, extramurally funded research programs. Current focus areas include schizophrenia, depression, dementia, and substance use disorders.
