Radiography Associate Degree Program Director
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The Radiography Program Director is responsible for the organization, administration, review, development, evaluation and management of the Radiologic Sciences Program. Two certificate programs require hiring of faculty and placing students in clinical. The MR program typically runs yearly and usually with no more than 6 students. The CT program has not run in several years.
1. Direct the Radiologic Sciences Program in accordance with the accreditation standards established by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
2. Assist to direct the certificate programs for CT and MRI by finding faculty and assisting with scheduling clinical.
3. Maintain program accreditation through JRCERT. (currently reaccredited for 8 years)
4. Run the daily operation of the program, providing guidance to the clinical coordinators.
5. Maintain open communication lines among all levels of the College.
6. Promote the program in the community and work closely with area Radiologic professionals.
7. Assist with running honor society induction for students.
8. Assist with coordinating clinical experiences for students.
9. Oversee the clinical coordinators.
10. Assure that the students have the availability to complete all procedures necessary for graduation and licensure.
11. Answer any concerns from students and clinical sites associated with the clinical experience.
12. Assure that clinical evaluations of sites and instructors have been performed and collected.
13. Run two advisory board meetings per year.
14. Update the student handbook yearly.
15. Hire adjunct faculty.
16. Other duties as necessary related to hiring and evaluating faculty and maintaining accreditation.
OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY: The primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful and effective manner to our students and other members of the college community.
Education Required: As required by accreditation standards: Bachelor's degree required (any discipline) AND Master's degree in progress or attained. Master's degree (any discipline) or Master's degree in progress, demonstrated by acceptance into a program and a plan to complete within 2 years. This is a requirement in coordination with JRCERT policy for exception. Certified American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). MRI or CT certification is a plus.
Experience Required: Minimum of three (3) years full-time current experience as a radiographer. Management experience helpful, experience with students helpful. Experience as an instructor in an accredited radiography program.
Skills/Abilities /Knowledge /Other Requirements: Current valid license as a radiology technologist in the state of New Jersey. Proof of the ARRT credential. Able to learn computer programs to assist the running of the program. Accountable, dependable and trustworthy.
