Receptionist

The Nuffield Department of Medicine (NDM) is looking for a friendly, organised, and professional Receptionist to be the first point of contact at the Global Health Building on the University’s Old Road Campus, Roosevelt Drive, Headington, Oxford, OX3 7FZ. This exciting new building—opening mid-2026—will bring together researchers and teaching staff working at the forefront of global health, providing a vibrant and collaborative working environment.

Reporting to the Building and Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the reception area, ensuring that all visitors and building users receive a warm and efficient service. You will also provide administrative support to the Facilities Management Team, contributing to the successful operation of this new multi-departmental building.

To be successful in this role, you must have a solid understanding of standard administrative procedures, supported by relevant qualifications such as an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent experience. You should be confident in using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, and demonstrate a clear understanding of confidentiality when handling sensitive information. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and accuracy are essential, along with the ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and know when to seek support or escalate issues. A proactive and professional approach, combined with a commitment to delivering excellent service, will be key to thriving in this role.
