Rehab Aide
The Rehab Aide supports patient care within an acute care rehabilitation department under the supervision of a licensed therapist (Physical, Occupational, and/or Speech Therapist). Responsibilities include assisting with patient mobility, transfers, therapeutic exercises, and modalities, as well as supporting therapists during instrumental assessments and procedures, including equipment setup and breakdown. The Rehab Aide prepares, manages, and maintains therapeutic equipment and advanced technologies to ensure safe, efficient, and effective clinical operations, while observing and reporting patient responses to the supervising therapist.
In addition to direct patient care support, the Rehab Aide is responsible for coordinating and maintaining inventory of durable medical equipment (DME), bracing, orthotics, and therapy supplies across multiple teams and locations. This includes organizing, cleaning, repairing, and tracking equipment; facilitating procurement and vendor coordination; and ensuring timely delivery, availability, and return of patient care items. The role serves as a liaison between rehabilitation staff, purchasing, and external suppliers to support cost-effective operations, appropriate charge capture, and budget monitoring.
The Rehab Aide works as part of an interdisciplinary team and is accountable for timely, consistent communication with therapists, care team members, and leadership. The position also supports administrative functions such as documentation, supply tracking, and dissemination of materials. The Rehab Aide maintains therapy environments that are clean, organized, and fully stocked, and consistently adheres to all organizational policies, procedures, and safety standards to promote high-quality patient care and operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
High School graduate or equivalent. 0 years of relevant experience required. 0-2 years of relevant health care experience preferred.
