Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD degree in Exercise Physiology/Kinesiology or related field. ABD will be considered provided degree is conferred prior to the position start date.
- Ability to teach and develop undergraduate courses related to Exercise Physiology such as Principles of Health and Fitness, Exercise Testing and Prescription in Healthy and Clinical Populations, Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Principles of Strength and Conditioning, Sport and Exercise Nutrition, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Exercise Physiology
- Previous experience using innovative teaching pedagogy
- Previous experience supervising student internship placement

Description
The Department of Health and Exercise Science at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for a Renewable Term Lecturer position in Exercise Physiology. This position is non-tenure track with an emphasis on undergraduate teaching, but does provide an opportunity for promotion. The position will have a 4:4 teaching load focused primarily on undergraduate courses related to Exercise Physiology. The appointment will begin in Fall 2025. The successful applicant will be offered a five-year appointment, renewed annually based on performance and funding, with the opportunity for a second or subsequent reappointments.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and potentially graduate courses in Exercise Physiology. The expected teaching load of this position will be 4 courses per semester.
- Perform service to the profession, university, college, and department
About the Department
The Department of Health and Exercise Science is an interdisciplinary program and one of the largest in the Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences. It is nationally ranked by the National Academy of Kinesiology. The program focuses on Exercise Physiology and Health Promotion and integrates the following: biological, physiological, medical, and behavioral sciences as they relate to physiological responses to exercise and other aspects of human health.
