Position Purpose
Responsible for engagement and outreach to students, faculty, and researchers in the Arts & Sciences, with primary responsibility in the Humanities and Social Sciences. Provides research support, instruction, and collection management in support of the discovery and access to scholarly information.
This is a hybrid work location eligible position.

Masters or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- ALA-accredited degree in library and/or information science, or a combination of an advanced subject or professional degree combined with relevant academic library experience.
- Two or more years of post-graduate experience in an academic or research library or a combination of relevant professional experience.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments.
- Demonstrated skill and commitment to outreach, engagement, and public service.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to communicate effectively, prioritize tasks, manage time, problem solve, and complete projects.
- Knowledge of and proficiency with key information resources in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Academic background in the Humanities, or a related interdisciplinary subject.
- Experience with developing, delivering, and assessing effective programs and services.
- Experience and proficiency with effective teaching methods and practices.
- Experience in collection management including selection and budgeting.
- Understanding of current issues and trends in scholarly communication and publishing.
- Technical proficiency in areas such as discovery systems, learning management systems, assessment tools, and Springshare products.

Description
Provides research and curricular support by collaborating with faculty and other colleagues. Develops, delivers, and assesses instruction offered in-person and online as well as learning objects such as research guides and video tutorials. Listens and responds appropriately to users, recognizing and honoring cultural differences and their unique research and information-related needs.
Percentage Of Time 30%
Develops, manages, and assesses subject-area resources to support research and teaching. Manages assigned collections budgets, and makes recommendations and decisions related to licensing options, format, deaccessioning, collective collecting, diversity and inclusion, and preservation or digitization initiatives.
Percentage Of Time 20%
Cultivates relationships with faculty, students, and staff to understand their diverse perspectives, expectations, and needs. Identifies resources and services for research, teaching, and publishing and shares this expertise with constituents in liaison areas. Serves as the first point of contact and actively communicates to keep them informed of developments in the library and represents their needs back to the Library.
Percentage Of Time 20%
Participates in committees or task forces related to library and/or campus initiatives and projects. Contributes to the Research & Learning Department's goals and program development. May lead a committee or manage project teams.
Percentage Of Time 25%
Actively engages in ongoing professional development. Stays current with trends and issues in librarianship and assigned subject disciplines; scholarly publishing and communication; educational technologies and pedagogy; equity, diversity, and inclusion. Contributes to the profession through involvement in relevant national and regional professional associations.
Percentage Of Time 5%
- Demonstrates professionalism and collegiality through actions, interactions, and communications with others appropriate to an environment that is welcoming to all.
