We are looking for a postdoctoral scientist to join Valeria Lulla's group to work on gut- and brain-specific aspects of astrovirus replication. The successful candidate will explore the interactions between viral genomic changes and molecular pathways relevant to the early and late stages of infection by neurotropic enteric viruses, with a focus on astroviruses.
The post is a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic cell or molecular virologist with an aptitude for semi-independent work, which is well supported by a dynamic team and multiple collaborations.
We are looking for someone who...
- Holds or is near completion of a PhD in Virology.
- Has substantial experience with astrovirus reverse genetics.
- Has substantial experience with viral polyprotein processing research.
- Experience with organoid RNA and protein specific techniques.
- Will continually update knowledge in the specialist area and engage in continuous professional development.
- Has experience of managing own workload.
An additional criteria (desirable) is for someone who is skilled at presenting data both verbally and in writing.
