Position Title: Research Assistant - Cardiovascular Medicine

Job Description Summary: The position entails full time management and coordination of the program for AI & Research in Cardiovascular Medicine. This includes research activities between the different team members, including multiple medical students and KUMC staff members, keeping a tally of day-to-day tasks, keeping research meeting minutes, tracking progress on assignments to different team members, moving the research projects to completion, writing abstracts/manuscripts, manuscript submission process including communicating with journals and timely resubmissions, helping prepare grant applications and applying for extramural funding.

Job Duties

  • Delegate and coordinate assignments to team members, including medical students and other KUMC staff members.
  • Keep research meeting minutes.
  • Manage and track daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly task lists.
  • Write abstracts/manuscripts.
  • Process manuscript submissions, including communicating with journals and timely resubmissions.
  • Help prepare grant applications.
  • Request and obtain secure access to protected health information.
  • Comply and maintain data security per KUMC/TUKHS policies and approvals.

Required Qualifications

Work Experience:

  • 4 years of relevant work experience. Relevant education may substitute on a year for year basis.
  • Experience writing medical journals.
  • Experience working with grant applications.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Master's Degree.

Work Experience: Experience using Biostatistical software.

  • Communication.

Compensation Statement: The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
