Research Assistant III Non-Lab
Job Summary

Working under the direction of Dr. Mary Rice, C-CHANGE is seeking a full-time Research Assistant to support research regarding climate and health solutions. The position is primarily in-person, with an option to telework up to 2 days a week.
The position is anticipated to last at least 2 years, with the possibility of renewal. The successful candidate will be able to work autonomously, while performing high level data compilation and science writing in addition to other research related duties.
The Research Assistant is expected to have strong critical thinking and excellent writing skills to assist with drafting of manuscripts, presentations, and grant proposals. The Research Assistant will also participate in team meetings, conduct literature reviews, and assist with IRB, data use applications, and progress reports. This position is ideal for candidates with an interest in climate and health who have plans for future doctoral studies.
Job-Specific Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Support and conduct analyses of data
- Perform logical and thorough literature searches
- Obtain and organize information on climate and health
- Assist, and in some cases lead, the writing of peer-reviewed manuscripts for submission and publication
- Assist in the preparation of data use agreements, IRB applications, study protocols, and other administrative tasks relevant to research
- Make periodic reports to supervisor and other research team personnel
- Attend regular meetings and check-ins with supervisor and other research team personnel
- Producing charts and tables for manuscripts and presentations
- Assisting with grant reporting and developing & communicating submission timelines
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant work experience is required; a combination of education and experience may be considered
Additional Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree
- Master's degree strongly preferred
- Advanced biostatistics and epidemiology coursework are strongly preferred
- Experience with standard computer software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Independent judgment, patience, and excellent communication skills are required to respond efficiently to varied/complex task
- Organization and attention to detail is a must
- Flexibility and work effectively with a team are essential
- Must be able to maintain a calm and cooperative attitude during periods of increased activity

Work Format Details
This position has been determined by school or unit leaders that some of the duties and responsibilities can be effectively performed at a non-Harvard location. The work schedule and location will be set by the department at its discretion and based upon operational needs. When not working at a Harvard or Harvard-designated location, employees in hybrid positions must work in a Harvard registered state in compliance with the University's Policy on Employment Outside of Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
