About the Role
Are you interested in how the digital revolution is changing the way children read? The InTRACt Project, led by Dr Pablo Bernabeu and Prof Victoria Murphy, is seeking a motivated Research Assistant to investigate digital reading comprehension through large-scale data analysis.
This role, funded by the John Fell Fund, sits at the fascinating intersection of computational psycholinguistics and education. You will join a vibrant research community, working closely with Dr Bernabeu while integrating into the wider Learning in Families through Technology project. We offer a high degree of autonomy, allowing you to distribute your hours flexibly across the week to suit your professional or academic commitments.
The post holder will possess a first degree, together with some relevant experience. They will also hold, or be currently working towards, a PhD in Linguistics, Data Science, Statistics, Psychology, Education or a related field. Proficiency in R or Python for data analysis is required for this role, along proven expertise using GitHub, GitHub Copilot and the command line (e.g., Unix/Bash). Experience in performing systematic literature reviews and data extraction is essential.
The appointment is fixed term for 5.5 months on a part time basis at 44% FTE (16.46 hours per week).
