Research Assistant

Research Assistant

Location: Department of Statistics, 24-29 St Giles, Oxford, OX1 3LB

We are looking for a Research Assistant reporting to Prof Yee-Whye Teh. The post holder will be a member of Oxford Computational Statistics and Machine Learning (OxCSML) with responsibility for the provision of research support in the area of reliability of language models, with specific focus around use of conformal prediction and e-values for uncertainty quantification and decision-making under uncertainty.

This post is fixed-term and part-time (20 hours per week) until 30 September 2026.

You will hold a relevant Bachelor's or Master’s degree in statistics, computer science, information engineering, or a commensurate technical discipline. You will also possess sufficient specialist knowledge and interest in statistical machine learning, deep learning, large language models, and algorithmic statistics.
