Research Assistant, Per Diem
Position Summary
Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a per diem Research Assistant for the Pediatrics department within the New Jersey Medical School.
The primary purpose of the Research Assistant will be to conduct specialized epidemiologic surveillance and research under the supervision and direction of the study investigator.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Maintains confidentiality of information.
- Adheres to field procedures as stipulated in the NJ Autism Study Field guide.
- Abstracts onto computerized abstraction forms relevant medical, sociodemographic and diagnostic information.
- Edits data, checks printouts, codes and prepares data for upload to main database.
- Performs basic functions on the computer in Microsoft programs, such as: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Assists in data analysis.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant area, such as: Psychology, Medicine, Public Health, Education, or related field.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, talking or hearing. No special vision requirements.
- Work Environment: Office environment. Moderate noise.
Special Conditions
- Ability to travel by car to sources in the surveillance area (must provide own transportation).
