The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is seeking outstanding candidates for Research Assistant Professorship (RAP) in the fields of AI for Life Sciences and AI for Healthcare.

Applicants in the following areas are particularly welcome:

• AI and Machine Learning
• AI for Molecular Design
• Molecular Folding
• Computational Biology

Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Electronic engineering, or other disciplines that are related to AI for Life Science technologies; (ii) ample experience in above research area(s) as evidenced by publications in high-impact journals and top-tier conferences; (iii) substantial postdoctoral experience in relevant area(s); (iv) strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching; (v) strong sense of responsibility and team spirit; and (vi) excellent oral and written communication skills. Applicants with collaborative research projects involving different disciplines will have an advantage.

The appointee will (a) apply for, in capacity as Principal Investigator/Project Coordinator, RGC grants (or other external grants of a similar size and status) every year; (b) participate in and/or develop independent and/or collaborative research projects; (c) coordinate research projects and publish peer-reviewed papers; and (d) be involved in teaching, student supervision and related administrative duties.

As the first computer science department in Hong Kong, CSE department currently hosts over 30 faculty members, including the first Turing Award winner in Hong Kong, 8 ACM Fellows, 16 IEEE Fellows, and over 1400 students. Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years.
