The School of Graduate Studies (GS) was established to strengthen the central support for postgraduate programmes and monitor their quality in alignment with the University’s strategic direction of expanding and providing quality postgraduate education in the digital era. The GS also offers postgraduate programmes up to doctoral level in various disciplines and provides professional education for the wider society. It has a wide research and teaching scope and knowledge transfer programmes that promote interdisciplinary teaching and research related to policy studies and management, health and well-being studies, higher education, and urban studies.
The GS is now searching for staff who possess research and teaching experiences in these areas at postgraduate level:
- Social determinants of health and well-being
- Health and social services management
- Ageing, well-being and welfare policies
- Health and well-being of children and youth
- Research methods and data analytics
The appointee will be expected to (a) support and lead in conducting high quality research; (b) engage in teaching and learning activities in the areas specified above; (c) support academic programme management and knowledge transfer activities; (d) contribute to academic programme/course development, and (e) contribute to other administrative duties as required by supervisors, such as academic programme promotion.
General Requirements
Applicants should have (i) a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline such as social policy, social work or sociology awarded no more than five years prior to the commencement of the appointment; (ii) substantial research experience and achievements; (iii) good experience in teaching in the specified areas; (iv) excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills; and (v) proficiency in English and Putonghua. Preference will be given to candidates with outstanding academic training and international exposure.
Appointment
The conditions of appointment will be competitive. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuity and incoming passage and baggage allowance for the eligible appointee. Appointment will be normally made on a contract basis for up to three years.
