Research Assistant
The Petzschner lab at the Cognitive and Psychological Science Department is conducting longitudinal measurements using cognitive tasks, EEG and an in-house developed smartphone app (SOMA) to track pain, mood and emotions in healthy individuals and patient populations. The Research Assistant will support the execution of several large-scale research studies (online and local) that involve healthy individuals and chronic pain patients and the use of the SOMA app as well as EEG recordings.
This is a fixed term position with a current end date of 06/30/2027 which may be extended based upon available funding.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Neuroscience, Psychology or relevant field and 1-2 research years' experience required (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Experience performing EEG, TMS, or fMRI tests preferred
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required for working with the study participants
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Analytical skills and the ability to resolve technical or research problems and issues and to interpret the acceptability of data results
- High degree of computer literacy
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks
- Careful attention to detail
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism and respect for subject's rights and individual needs
- Knowledge of data management programs
