Overview:
- Full-time, Fixed Term position for 12 months
- Salary Academic Level A-B dependent on experience + 17% Superannuation
- Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University
About You
The Research Assistant will undertake research activities in line with the University’s research strategy.
It is expected that the Research Assistant will work with an increasing degree of autonomy as skills and experience develop.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Evidence of research output including publications, conference contributions and/or technical reports in the field.
- Ability to generate alternative funding projects through effective liaison with industry and government.
- Ability to work autonomously whilst displaying a strong commitment to work in a team environment, including the demonstrated ability to confidently and effectively work with colleagues, project team leaders, and industry partners.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changing priorities as required
- Demonstrated high level of communication skills
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in interface electronics for sensor readout systems, including ASIC and SoC design and verification.
- Strong experience in hardware–firmware co-design for data acquisition and processing pipelines, including FPGA-based prototyping, embedded firmware development (C/C++), and real-time data capture and processing.
- Experience working in industry will be well regarded
