Applications are sought for a motivated and experienced Research Associate/Research Technician to work with Dr Su Young Han on a Wellcome Trust-funded project entitled Brain Circuits for Hormonal Control: Sex Differences and Ageing in Growth Hormone Regulation. The primary role will be to support ongoing research projects within the Han Lab, including the execution of in vivo experiments, mouse surgical procedures, and contributing to the maintenance, organisation, and smooth running of the research laboratory and animal colonies.
The successful applicant will have (or be close to completion of) a BSc or MSc in Neuroscience, Physiology, Biology, or a related discipline. Previous experience in a research laboratory environment is essential.
The post is available for 36 months in the first instance, starting 27 April 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will provide technical support to ongoing research projects using mouse models. The role will focus on supporting behavioural, surgical, and molecular experiments, as well as maintaining laboratory operations and animal colonies.
This role will play an important part in establishing experimental workflows and supporting the day-to-day organisation and operation of the laboratory as the Han Lab continues to expand. We particularly welcome applications from candidates interested in contributing to the development of a growing research group.
The position is funded for 3 years in the first instance, with the possibility of longer-term support (up to 8 years) for the right candidate. Depending on experience, the post may be appointed at Research Assistant or Research Technician level.
