Job Title: Research Assistant

Job Summary Overview / Lab Operations

• Organizes and coordinates research projects under the direction of a professional faculty member.
• Designs, develops, or adapts equipment used in experiments or research to obtain desired results.
• Create and manage lab research folders, files, and documents in shared directories, drives and Teams site.
• Recommends replacement or purchase of new equipment.
• Ensures that laboratories are prepared for accreditation and inspection.
• Manages various projects of the faculty and helps others working with the faculty.
• Place reagent/supplies orders for other lab members

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in life sciences.
• Knowledge in Cancer Biology, Molecular biology, cell biology, and immunology is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
