Job Summary: Our world-renowned heart study, in partnership with Boston University, is looking for a Research Specialist to join our team and actively participate in the evaluation of our volunteer participants who range in age from 50-99 years old. This position is 100% onsite in Framingham, MA; remote work is not possible.

Duties/Responsibilities: Our highest priority is to engage with our volunteer participants and make them feel welcome and appreciated while collecting data in accordance with the study protocol. You will screen and register our volunteer participants for a study assessing Medication Self-Administration (MSA). We aim to assess whether overestimation of MSA performance can identify cognitive impairment and greater care needs. The study requires interacting with research participants for their study visits, explaining study protocol and assessing the participants ability to complete study tasks. Responsibilities including maintaining protocol adherence, may include the following: reviewing charts, keeping logs, preparing reports and attending staff meetings. You will also be expected to provide clinical and administrative support to the Research Center Core team to ensure quality and consistency of exam operations at FHS.

Schedule Typically, Monday-Friday, 7:00 am-3:00 pm but varies slightly depending on daily schedule. Occasional Saturdays are required (3-4 in Spring and 3-4 in Fall).

  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced, highly collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Must be extremely reliable and flexible.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent trouble shooting / problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks with excellent time management skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite of tools.
  • Proactively anticipate, identify, and mitigate potential issues before they arise

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (required), with 1-3 years of experience (that occurred in conjunction with attainment of bachelor's degree is acceptable)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand/walk for much of the day
