Research Assistant - Trial Manager

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Research Assistant/Trial Manager to join a team working on a project evaluating a digital therapy for adolescent social anxiety disorder. The successful candidate will support the running of a randomised controlled trial to evaluate OSCA (Online Social anxiety Cognitive therapy for Adolescents), our digital therapy for social anxiety in young people, which is running in NHS-commissioned child and adolescent mental health services, and other activities as relevant to the team in agreement with their line manager.
The post is full time and fixed term until 31 August 2027. The successful applicant will require a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check due to regulated activity involving children.
The post-holder will contribute to high-quality research activities supporting this project and promote open science and use transparent reporting and data handling practices according to the highest standards. The role will involve a range of activities including day-to-day administrative duties, interactions with patients and families, and data management. You will also work closely with participating sites to support recruitment and retention of participants.
The successful applicant will hold a first degree in psychology and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an understanding of anxiety problems to interact with young people, parents and schools. Experience with setting up and managing large databases and knowledge of statistics and randomized controlled trials are also essential for this role.
