Your next career opportunity

As a Research Assistant at Orygen, you'll play a crucial role in advancing youth mental health research and knowledge translation. You'll contribute to managing research projects, conduct literature reviews, and participate in qualitative research. This role offers you the opportunity to work with leading experts in the field, develop valuable research skills, and directly influence the development of innovative clinical services for young people experiencing mental ill-health.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to Research Projects: Manage research projects, including ethics applications, and participate in team research activities.
  • Conduct Literature Reviews and Analysis: Undertake rapid reviews of youth mental health literature and perform qualitative interviews and analysis.
  • Collaborate and Communicate: Participate in national forums, maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, and contribute to team meetings.
  • Support Service Development: Contribute to the development of services targeting young people with, or at risk of, first episode psychosis within designated headspace centres nationally.

You may be a great fit if:

You are a dedicated professional with a postgraduate degree in behavioural or social sciences, possessing excellent communication skills and a strong interest in youth mental health research and service development.

You may also:

  • Have completed a postgraduate degree (Honours or Masters by Research) in behavioural or social sciences or a related discipline, or be progressing towards a PhD.
  • Possess experience with qualitative research methods and literature reviews.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Show the ability to negotiate and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Be passionate about building a research career in the mental health sector.
