About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Research Assistant to join the ORCHID study team, a new project funded by the Huo Family Foundation focused on understanding online risks and resilience in children’s daily lives. The role will involve supporting a range of research activities, including participant recruitment, applying for ethical approval, data collection, and assisting with co-design workshops and interviews with children and parents. Working closely with a research team across several collaborating institutions, the post holder will contribute to the development and evaluation of new measures and resources aimed at promoting positive online experiences for children and families. This is a part-time post (80% FTE).

About You

The successful candidate will have completed an undergraduate degree in psychology or related subject. They will have relevant knowledge of child and adolescent mental health research, with an understanding of the opportunities and challenges children and families face in the digital world. Strong research skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. The post holder will be well organised, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a wider team. They will be flexibility, show initiative, and have a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive data.
