Research Associate/Fellow in Electrical Machines (Fixed Term)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Researcher to join the world-renowned Power Electronics, Machines and Control Institute (PEMC) at the University of Nottingham and become a core member of a team working on electrical machines, electromagnetic design, magnetic and insulation materials, thermal management, control, construction and testing of high-performance electrical machines. We are currently developing a range of electrical machines with industry partners spanning from high-speed machines for aircraft generators, compressors and electric drive units to direct drive radial, transverse and axial machines.
About You
The successful candidate will undertake research on developing and testing thermomechanical designs. Good communication skills are essential since the successful candidate will work closely with other colleagues and industrial partners. Candidates must hold a PhD (or be near to completion) or equivalent, in engineering, applied mathematics or a related subject area, with a major component in electrical machine design or analysis.
