Research Associate in Quantum Photonics (Fixed Term)
The Research Associate will join the Integrated Quantum Photonics group, based in the Nanoscience Centre at the University of Cambridge, a research group that works on simulation, nanofabrication and optical characterisation of nano- and quantum photonic devices, integrating quantum light emitters.
They will support teaching, supervision and research on photonic devices within the group.
The key responsibilities and duties are:
- Support data acquisition and analysis in quantum photonics and device technology;
- Write methodology and guidelines for students and early career researchers, for quantum technology experimental studies;
- Help with Master/PhD student supervision and teaching activities in quantum photonics, communication and computing.
The skills, qualifications and experience required to perform the role are:
- Education and qualifications:
Applicants must have a PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Engineering or related areas. - Specialist knowledge and skills:
Quantum photonics, quantum optics, nano-photonics. - Interpersonal and communication skills:
Very good interpersonal and communication skills, including writing scientific manuscripts and delivering presentations. - Relevant experience:
Experience in spectroscopy, data analysis, supervision and teaching.
Salary Range:
Research Associate: GBP 37,694 - GBP 46,049
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 October 2026 in the first instance.
