The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of chromatin biology, nuclear organization, and gene regulation, with strong experience in molecular biology, cell culture techniques, genomics, and imaging-based approaches. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.
Responsibilities may include investigation of the regulation and functions of nuclear architecture and chromatin organization in gene regulation and cell state, using a wide range of approaches including molecular biology, genomics, cell biology, epigenetic profiling, and advanced imaging techniques.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to further develop critical thinking skills, familiarize with related literatures and experimental techniques, prepare manuscript and grant preparation, present research findings in national and international meeting, mentor junior scientists, and participate in career trainings offered by the University.
