Manchester Metropolitan University – Arts & Humanities

Established in 2007, the Policy Evaluation and Research Unit (PERU) at Manchester Metropolitan University is a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team delivering high-quality research across the social sciences. Our work informs policy and drives real-world impact at local, national, and international levels.

We are seeking a motivated Research Associate to join our team and contribute to the Horizon 2020 project GUIDEPREP. This prestigious Research Infrastructure Preparatory Phase grant supports Growing Up In Digital Europe (GUIDE)—the first pan-European cohort study focused on measuring child and youth wellbeing across Europe.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a pioneering international study that will shape the future of child wellbeing policy across Europe. Working within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team led by Professor Pollock, you will contribute to developing innovative approaches that underpin the GUIDE study.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the development of the GUIDE sampling strategy and panel maintenance protocols
  • Contributing to a range of research activities across the project
  • Assisting with the dissemination of findings through academic journals, conferences, and seminars
  • Collaborating with colleagues to strengthen PERU and GUIDE's research profile and impact

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a strong interest in using survey research to inform child wellbeing policy
  • Enjoys working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary research environment
  • Has excellent analytical and communication skills

Experience in analysing longitudinal survey data is desirable but not essential.
