The Annenberg Institute
The Annenberg Institute is Brown University's education research hub, bringing together a vibrant community of scholars dedicated to transforming education through rigorous research and meaningful partnerships. We seek to connect people, evidence, and practices to build toward a more effective and equitable education system that enables all students to thrive. Our core mission is to understand the causes and consequences of educational inequality and to reduce this inequality through innovative, multidimensional, and research-informed approaches, premised on the conviction that improved educational opportunities lead to enriched lives for children and youth and more just societies. We organize our work in four pillars: applied research training, engaged scholarship, sustained partnerships, and actionable knowledge. Through these efforts, we place researchers in direct relationships with different levels of the fragmented educational system.
We aim to catalyze conversations across research projects and create forums for practitioners, policymakers, and researchers to collaborate on effective solutions, contributing to a growing body of relevant research on promising educational practices. Our community gathers diverse thinkers to tackle difficult problems and includes Brown University faculty, postdoctoral researchers, staff, students, and multiple partners throughout Rhode Island and across the United States. Together, we form a diverse network tackling pressing educational issues through collaborative initiatives that ensure evidence directly addresses the needs of educators, policymakers, and communities.
An earned doctorate in Education, Public Policy, Economics, Sociology, Political Science, Anthropology, American Studies, Ethnic Studies, or other affiliated fields is required by the position start date.
Candidates will be assessed based on research output and post-degree experience. Candidates with a portfolio of demonstrable work products that are commensurate with a more senior position will be considered for the Senior Research Associate role.
Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, two writing samples, and contact information for three references to Interfolio. We encourage candidates to identify the project(s) that best align with their interests.
