Are you a lab-based molecular scientist who wants to conduct research that could have benefit for patients?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Associate to join the Cancer Genetics team on the Prostate Cancer UK funded project “Identifying patients with aggressive prostate cancer by detecting molecular subtypes in urine”. This project aims to identify known and novel prostate cancer subtypes from the extracellular vesicle fraction of urine and to use them to develop tests for advanced disease and improve our understanding of cancer progression.

As a Research Associate you will contribute to the research programme, analyse and interpret data, write up results and present information on research progress and outcomes. You will collect and process samples to generate a transcriptome data from 350 urine samples and matched biopsy samples from men newly diagnosed with prostate cancer to create a unique paired dataset.

You will have a graduate level qualification, equivalent qualification or experience and be able to work in a proactive and results driven manner in a high paced environment. You will have excellent laboratory skills. You will also have strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to analyse and interpret data and work effectively as part of a team.
