"Research Associate"

This post is full time (35 hours per week) and has funding available until 31st March 2028 in the first instance.

The James Watt School of Engineering are seeking a Research Associate who will make a leading contribution to an exciting new UKRI funded project to develop ‘Ultrasound-Guided Activation and Imaging of Engineered Bacteria for Stroma Reprogramming’, working with Dr. Helen Mulvana and an interdisciplinary team of experts based at the Universities of Nottingham and Cambridge.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development of techniques for ultrasound-triggered release and manipulation of encapsulated compounds from hydrogels via cavitation, and optimise ultrasound contrast imaging techniques to track nanoscale gas moieties as a means of treatment monitoring.

The postholder will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and highly interdisciplinary research as opportunities allow.
