Research Computing Consultant
Position Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Computing Consultant for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences and New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station (NJAES).
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Manages computational research computing resources for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences (SEBS) and the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station (NJAES).
- Provides consultative services to faculty to meet their computational needs in areas of bioinformatics, including modeling and data acquisition and processing from scientific instrumentation.
- Researches, evaluates, and recommends specialized hardware and software products and performs research computing research planning.
- Provides advanced technical research support, including scientific consulting, to faculty, post-doctorates, graduate students, and undergraduates and develops complex scientific applications.
- Prepares documentation for end users.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree and at least five years of experience with computational systems administration.
Equipment Utilized
Experience with scientific instrumentation and computer integration and knowledge of R packages, and programming skills in PHP and Python.

$108,147.00
