Research Coordinator
About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and collaborative Research Coordinator to play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of research outcomes across the School. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the centre of a vibrant research environment, partnering with research leaders and academic staff to ensure excellence, compliance and efficiency.
The Research Coordinator performs a broad range of significant research-related activities that underpin the School’s research performance and reporting obligations.
You will coordinate the collection and administration of research output data, assist research staff with the preparation of research reports, and ensure internal and external reporting requirements are met accurately and on time. You will also provide comprehensive research administration in line with funding body requirements and external stakeholder expectations, supporting projects across their lifecycle.
Reporting to the Manager, Research Services — or the Senior Manager, School Operations in their absence — you will help maintain consistency in administrative practices while working closely with the Associate Dean Research and a diverse group of research-active staff. From time to time, you may also contribute to university-wide initiatives, broadening your exposure to strategic research projects.
This role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of research activity — supporting academics, strengthening systems and contributing to initiatives that make a meaningful impact. If you’re motivated by collaboration, precision and enabling high-quality research outcomes, we’d love to hear from you.
About You
You are a proactive and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a complex environment and enjoys working collaboratively to support research excellence. You will bring:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate, liaise and work effectively with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external to the University, demonstrating tact, maturity and discretion when handling sensitive matters
- Highly proficient computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, data management systems and database applications
- Demonstrated experience in financial administration
- Experience in research or contract administration, compliance and associated processes
- Well-developed analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and clearly communicate policies, strategies and procedures
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the capacity to prioritise competing demands, respond to ad hoc and time-critical requests, and consistently meet deadlines
Qualifications
