Flexible Working
We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis (e.g. job share), despite the position being advertised as full-time.

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract for 2 years and 6 months, ending no later than 31 March 2029.

We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to contribute to the REWIRE Innovation and Knowledge Centre (IKC) project, led by Professor Peter Gammon.

The role involves undertaking research and development in the fabrication of silicon carbide (SiC) power devices within a major EPSRC and Innovate UK funded collaboration between the Universities of Warwick, Bristol and Cambridge, alongside more than 30 industry partners.

The postholder will support the delivery of project objectives all connected to the development of cutting edge SiC power devices, working closely with the Principal Investigator and project collaborators to ensure successful execution of the programme.

The successful candidate will also contribute to the wider activities of the department, helping to strengthen its research profile and reputation both internally and externally.

The post is based at the University of Warwick PEATER Group in the School of Engineering, and will involve travel to project partners based in Bristol and Cambridge Universities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a researcher with experience in cleanroom power device fabrication to further develop their expertise within a high-profile, collaborative research environment.

About You

You will hold a good honours degree (minimum 2:1) in a relevant subject and have completed, or be close to completing, a PhD in a related discipline.

You will have a developing research profile with the ability to publish and/or produce high quality research output.

You will bring strong specialist knowledge in silicon carbide (SiC) power devices or a closely related field. Hands-on experience of semiconductor device processing in a cleanroom environment, electrical characterisation (I–V, C–V, switching) and physical characterisation techniques (such as TEM, SEM, AFM) are essential.

You will be able to work both independently and collaboratively, contributing effectively within multidisciplinary academic and industry-facing teams.

Strong organisational and time management skills are important, as is the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to write high-quality technical papers and deliver presentations in clear, fluent English.

A willingness to contribute positively to the wider life of the School and to support a collegial and inclusive working environment is also expected.
