The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world’s leading public health universities. The Non-Communicable Disease Epidemiology Department (NCDE) has a wide-ranging, innovative research portfolio on non-communicable diseases that addresses groundbreaking public health issues worldwide. The post-holder will support LSHTM’s collaboration with the Danish Red Cross, covering activities related to a study of community-led peer support groups for people living with NCDs in the humanitarian setting of Lebanon.

The post-holder must have a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in a relevant field and have experience in humanitarian or LMIC settings. They should provide evidence of contributing to written output, preferably peer-reviewed, the ability to work independently, be a team player, and meet deadlines. They should have excellent interpersonal, communication, good organisational and time management skills. They should have experience in designing study protocols and submitting ethics applications; qualitative research using NVivo or similar analysis software; mixed-methods research; statistical analysis; training and supervising teams of data collectors; and working with multi-country teams. Availability and willingness to travel abroad, including to Lebanon, are essential. Further particulars are included in the job description.

The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and fixed-term until 31 December 2027. The post is funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation and is available immediately.

The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 6 in the range £45,728- £51,872 per annum pro rata (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part-time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
