Research Intelligence Strategist
The Research Intelligence Strategist will play a critical role in analyzing research trends, funding landscapes, and university research awards to inform decision-making and support the growth of UNCG’s research enterprise.
The Strategist will develop and implement systems to gather, interpret, and share research intelligence to help faculty, research leaders, and administrators align proposals and initiatives with emerging opportunities, sponsor priorities, and institutional strengths.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a research-related discipline, information science, business administration, data analytics, or related field.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in research development, data analysis, research administration, or a related area.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex datasets and communicate findings clearly to multiple audiences.
- Familiarity with research funding landscapes (federal, state, foundation, and industry).
- Strong skills in data visualization, reporting, and the use of research intelligence tools (e.g., Pivot, SciVal, Dimensions, or similar).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in a research-related discipline or advanced training in data analytics.
- Experience in higher education research administration or research development.
- Knowledge of federal sponsor priorities, review processes, and emerging research trends.
- Ability to translate data into actionable strategies that drive research growth.
