Responsibilities
- Managing a shared equipment, a flow cytometry BD Fortessa, for a few research groups (including Li, Jones, Khoriaty, Carty, Wong, Chiang and Singh) in Departments of Medicine and Pediatrics. Responsibilities include managing the scheduling calendar, monthly maintenance of the machine, purchasing and managing the reagents needed to fun the machine, keeping a record of usage and calculating billing to cover the cost of the machine, and working with the BD company tech for repairs and the annual maintenance service.
- Purchasing and keeping record of lab reagents and stock; maintaining lab equipment
- Maintaining the colonies of shared mouse stocks
- Monitoring lab safety and keeping record of safety training and inspections. Training new lab members
- Assisting lab members in various experiments
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Science
- Highly motivated in participating in scientific research
- Management, organizational skills, and experience working in a research laboratory is preferred
- Proficient in common research software including word, excel, PowerPoint, adobe photoshop and illustrator
