An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Department of Surgery for a motivated and committed Research Nurse to join the Urological Malignancies Virtual Institute, part of the CRUK Cambridge Centre. The Institute delivers a portfolio of successful and high-profile translational research studies and clinical trials focused on improving outcomes for patients with urological cancers.

The post-holder will play an important role in supporting the clinical delivery of translational sampling studies, surgical trials, and the translational components of clinical trials. Working closely with clinical leads, research scientists, and the wider multidisciplinary team, they will help ensure studies are delivered efficiently, safely, and in accordance with research governance requirements.

The successful candidate will be a Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration, with excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage a complex workload to tight deadlines. They will be confident in venepuncture, experienced in handling clinical data, and comfortable using electronic patient record systems and standard IT packages, including Microsoft Office and databases.

The role requires a proactive and collaborative individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills, who is able to build effective working relationships with colleagues across clinical and scientific teams. An awareness of ICH GCP and research governance is essential. Previous experience in research nursing, cancer care, clinical trials, or urology would be advantageous.

This post would particularly suit a Band 5 or Band 6 NHS nurse who is looking to develop and broaden their research experience within a well-established and innovative translational research environment.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 November 2027 in the first instance.
