Research Officer/Assistant Research Officer in the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine, and the State Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (Ref.: 534222)

Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and execute end-to-end research projects in metabolic diseases (e.g. obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, MASH), covering the full pipeline from biomarker discovery and clinical validation to target identification/confirmation and novel therapeutic development
- Design and implement translational research strategies, utilizing multi-omics approaches (genomics, proteomics, metabolomics) for the identification and prioritization of novel biomarkers and drug targets
- Design and perform biomedical experiments to advance therapeutic discovery, including developing and optimizing cell-based and biochemical assays for target validation; applying molecular biology techniques to characterize therapeutic antibodies and macromolecular drugs; conducting biostatistical analysis to interpret experimental data
- Undertake other duties as assigned
- 5.5 workdays per week is required
Requirements
- A Ph.D. degree, preferably with experience in molecular biology, immunology, biotechnology, and other related disciplines
- Prior postdoctoral or industry experience in the aforementioned disciplines is highly preferred
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, share knowledge proactively, and deliver high-quality results under pressure
- Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Research Officer

What We Offer
The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 1-year temporary basis or 2- to 3-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary for Assistant Research Officer, and 15% for Research Officer. Housing benefits will also be provided to Research Officer as applicable. Other benefits include annual leave, medical benefits and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
