RESEARCH SCIENTIST 1, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab
will lead computational analyses of large-scale single-cell and spatial multi-omic datasets derived from human postmortem brain samples to study the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric diseases. Working in collaboration with the PIs, the scientist will design, execute, and interpret computational experiments to uncover cell-type–specific and pathway-level mechanisms driving disease risk, progression, and resilience.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: A Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Neuroscience, or a related field; a minimum of two years of relevant research experience, which may include graduate work; demonstrated experience with single-cell and/or spatial omics data, particularly in human or mouse brain studies; proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R, with experience in high-performance or cloud-based computing; familiarity with AI/ML approaches (e.g., dimensionality reduction, autoencoders, or graph-based learning) for biological data; and evidence of potential for original or collaborative scholarship, demonstrated through publications, software contributions, or impactful analytical work. PREFERRED: Experience contributing to data portals, open-source pipelines, or collaborative computational infrastructure.
Some evening/night/weekend work may be required when working on deadlines.
