Job Summary

The School of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences (SCMNS), in partnership with the Morgan State’s Patuxent Environmental and Aquatic Research Laboratory (PEARL), invites individuals to apply for the Research Scientist position in Fish Ecotoxicology. The Research Scientist will support the newly established Center for Urban and Coastal Climate Science Research.

A highly motivated Research Scientist will establish and operate a productive fish ecotoxicology laboratory at Morgan State University. The successful candidate will conduct innovative research using fish models such as Japanese medaka and zebrafish to investigate developmental, immunotoxicology, and histopathological effects of environmental toxicants, as well as assess the associated human health risks.

Job Duties

  • Conduct ecotoxicological research using fish models.
  • Mentor and supervise graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Publish research findings in highly regarded, peer-reviewed journals.
  • Establish and operate a productive fish ecotoxicology laboratory.
  • Conduct innovative research.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Requested Minimum Qualifications

Education:
The successful candidate must have a Doctorate in Ecotoxicology or a closely related field from an accredited institution.

Experience:
Demonstrated experience in Molecular Environmental Toxicology is required.

  • A statement of research accomplishments and future research plans.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Doctorate in Ecotoxicology
  • Demonstrated experience in molecular environmental toxicology
