"Research Scientist in the Division of Science (Mathematics) - Dr. Nader Masmoudi"

The research team of Dr. Nader Masmoudi, working in the area of stability and analysis of nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs), with a focus on fluid and crowd dynamics, within the Division of Science at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Research Scientist to contribute to and lead advanced research in the mathematical analysis and modeling of kinetic models, crowd dynamics, and traffic flows.

The successful candidate will work on challenging problems in hydrodynamic stability, heat transfer, boundary layers, crowd dynamics, and traffic flow. The research will involve the theoretical and numerical study of stability for models related to crowd dynamics and traffic flow, and may include collaboration with interdisciplinary partners.

The Research Scientist will play an active role in mentoring students, preparing research proposals, and supporting academic initiatives. The position is ideal for a candidate with deep expertise in crowd dynamics, analysis and stability of PDEs, and a strong interest in bridging applied mathematics with real-world applications.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, with at least 10 years of post-doctoral research experience. A strong publication record, experience in the analysis and modeling of heat transfer systems and crowd dynamics models, as well as involvement in student supervision and research proposal development, are essential.
