Job Summary
The selected candidate will contribute to a growing research program in Artificial Intelligence and Mathematics. Working under the guidance of senior researchers, the individual will help apply machine learning methods, with a focus on reinforcement learning, to mathematical problem solving. The role emphasizes hands-on experimentation, algorithmic exploration, and collaborative research, rather than independent program leadership. This position is well-suited for candidates in the early stages of their career.
Essential Job Duties
- Conduct research using machine learning and reinforcement learning techniques to explore mathematical problem solving.
- Assist in the development, testing, and refinement of algorithms for mathematical reasoning.
- Collaborate closely with senior researchers and other team members to advance project objectives.
- Contribute to data collection, analysis, and the preparation of research results.
- Assist in drafting manuscripts for publication in scientific journals and preparing materials for conference presentations.
- Participate in group meetings, research discussions, and collaborative planning sessions.
Basic Qualifications
- Master’s degree Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field plus two years of relevant work experience.
- Experience with machine learning, especially reinforcement learning.
- Strong background in mathematical reasoning and problem-solving.
- Proven track record of research excellence demonstrated through publications and projects.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field.

Hiring Range
$79,700 - $112,500 Per Year
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
